The mission of Second Street Youth Center, Inc. is to provide programs of education, recreation, athletic and social activities for children, parents, caretakers, guardians and community residents at large. We provide individual social and advisory services for children, families and community residents.
SSYC is a multi-purpose agency serving the Plainfield community since 1967, dedicated to growth: intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially of youth and families in our community.

Our Programs
Preschool
The accredited Preschool provides quality early childhood education to children between the ages of 3 and 5 and extended day wrap around services for children of working parents.
After School
The accredited After School program is a bridge between home and school for children between the ages of 6 and 11 offering homework help, academic, arts and recreational activities.
Family & Community Services
The families of SSYC preschool attendees are linked to community resources, including the Family Support Prevention Program that provides social services support, financial literacy training and financial resources.
Summer STEAM Camp
The camp offers STEAM activities that will prepare students for success, including, arts and crafts, field trips and projects to children between the ages of 3 and 15, during July and August.
